Stillkept privacy policy

Last updated: October 18, 2026.

Stillkept is made by Stillkept ("we"). This policy explains what happens to your information when you use the Stillkept iPhone app.

The short version

What stays on your iPhone

To measure your library and keep track of your archive, Stillkept stores on your iPhone: a list of your photos and videos (identifiers, dates, sizes, album names), which items were archived where, and their checksums. This information stays on your device. It is included in your device backups so a new iPhone can still find your archive. Google sign-in tokens are kept in the iPhone keychain, are never backed up and never leave the device.

You can delete all of it in Settings > Delete all app data on this iPhone, or by deleting the app.

Google Drive

If you connect a Google account, Stillkept asks Google for the "drive.file" permission, which lets it create files and read only the files Stillkept itself created. Stillkept uses it to upload your photos and videos to a folder called "Stillkept Archive" in your Google Drive, to check their checksums, to read your free space, and to download them again when you restore. Stillkept does not read, change or delete any other files in your Google Drive.

Stillkept's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

To disconnect, remove the account in Stillkept. To revoke access entirely, visit your Google Account's connections page (myaccount.google.com/connections). Files already in your Google Drive stay there until you delete them.

Photos

Stillkept reads your photo library only on your iPhone, to measure it and to copy the items you choose. When you ask it to, it deletes items you reviewed, and it restores items from your archive. Deleting removes items from Photos on every device signed in to your Apple Account.

Purchases

Purchases are processed by Apple. We do not receive your payment details.

Support email

If you email us, or send a run report, we receive what you send. Run reports contain counts only (for example, how many items were archived), and you see the email before sending it. We use these emails only to help you and delete them when no longer needed.

Children

Stillkept is not directed to children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

We will update this page and its date if this policy changes.
